Mastering Forms for Crisp, Clean Pots (Scandinavian Heritage Wk)

     Date: Sunday, Mar 18 - Saturday, Mar 24, 2018
Subject: Clay       Instructor: Chris Jones

Spend the  week learning how to create good functional pottery on the wheel, even  if you've never "thrown" before! We will design and complete a variety  of forms with an emphasis on simple, elegant style. Work will be glazed  and fired in electric kilns, and you will depart with a finished piece  or several. This class is ideal for beginners (moderate hand strength  advised), but those with some experience are also welcome.

**As of Februrary 1, 2018 there are 5 people signed up. There is room for 11. Come join in the fun. While this class is great for beginners, I can also work with more advanced potters too.

Arts in the Park is a really nice show. I will likely be in my usual space on the far side of the tracks. I plan on Showing here for the 2018 season. 2017 had two good shows here.

If you already know how to throw and are ready to advance your skills to new levels (literally), join us to learn to throw pots that are 2-3 feet and taller! The instructor's proven quick & easy method is your path to creating these, as well as platters 20+ inches wide, with ease. Make pots with lids that fit perfectly every time. Also experience a simple method for learning to tap on center with 40 minutes of practice. Intermediate to advanced throwing skills are required.

I will be assisting Stephen during this workshop. Look for more classes at Folkschool.org
